Dr. Elif Ebru Ş ŞMAN 2007 Kent; çok amaçlı olarak sürekli gelişme süreci içerisinde bulunan, birçok fonksiyonu beraberinde taşıyan, formu zaman ve mekan içinde değişik ivmelerle değişen bir organizasyondur. Kent insanı da, yaşamının her bölümünde kentsel mekanları kullanmak zorundadır. nsanların bu kentsel mekanları en iyi şekilde kullanabilmesi, ancak estetik ve fonksiyonel olarak uygun ve yeterli donatı elemanlarının varlığı ve doğru planlamalarla mümkündür. Ancak günümüzde kentlerde her yönden kullanışlı, görsel açıdan estetik elemanları görmek neredeyse imkansızdır. Gelişigüzel kullanılan donatı elemanları, belli ilkeleri taşımayan planlamalar ve standartların dışında yapılan uygulamalar, işlevsellikten öte bir görsel kirlilik oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Tekirdağ kent merkezi örneğinde kullanılan donatı elemanları, kentsel kullanımlar ve genel görünümün kentsel doku içerisinde incelenmesi, var olan görsel kirliliğin saptanması ve olması gerekenlerin standartlar bazında değerlendirilerek ortaya konulmasıdır. Tekirdağ kent merkezi örneğinde yapılan bu araştırma ile yanlış kullanımların ve görsel kirlilik yaratan elemanların belirlenmesi, yeni yapılacak çalışmalara, kullanılacak materyal ve donatı elemanlarına en azından farklı bir bakış açısı getirilecektir. Bu araştırma, aynı zamanda diğer kent merkezleri için de örnek alınabilecek bir çalışmadır. Araştırma sonucunda alana ilişkin gereksinimler ortaya konulmuş ve çözüm önerileri getirilmiştir. THESIS OF MASTER VISUAL POLLUTION IN URBAN AREAS: TEK RDAĞ CASE The University of Trakya Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Landscape Architecture Advisor: Assist. Prof. Dr. Elif Ebru Ş ŞMAN 2007 The city is an ongoing developing organization with many functions, its form changes in time and in place with different accelerations. People living in cities oblige to use the urban areas. Satisfactory use of the urban areas by the citizens is possible only with the existence of adequate, aesthetic and functional city furniture and suitable planning. However, today, in urban areas, it is impossible to see useful and esthetic elements. Indiscriminate use of the urban furniture plans without particular principles and practicals without standarts cause visual pollution. The aim of this study is; to make the survey of urban furniture of the Tekirdağ city center, general view in the urban tissue and the urban uses; to determine the visual pollution and examine in accordance with the standards. To determinate the mistakes and visual pollution be appeard in the city center will be a new point of view for the issue. At the same time, this research will be an example for the other city centers. As a result, the needs of the area in the frame of the subject are determined and some proposals are given.
