SUMMARY In this study, dehydration reactions of secondary and tertiary alcohols containing seven, nine and ten carbon atoms were investigated by using NİSO4, CuS04, C0SO4.H2O as catalysts. This research was carried out by using metal (II) sulfates as catalysts in the dehydration reactions of alcohols which the utility of this catalyst is not very common and the stereo chemistry of product is not known so far. In this experiment alcohols were heated with metal (II) sulfate at the temperature below the boiling point of alchol until the evaporation of whole alcohol under atmospheric pressure. The obtained product and water were separated with extraction and the organic phase was purified by destination. Separated fractions were identified by gas chromatography, I.R. and N.M.R. spectroscopy. In addition, acid strenght of distribution on the catalysts was determined by Hammet indicators adsorpsion method.
