Tespit ettiğimiz 134 kuş türünden 3 tür A.1.2, 23 tür A.2, 31 tür A.3, 19 tür A.4, 6 tür B.2, 1 1 tür B.3, kategorisinde "Kırmızı Liste"ye girmektedir. Bunlarla birlikte Gala Gölü ve çevresini ornitolojik açıdan tehdit eden sorunlar belirlenerek bu sorunlara çözüm önerileri getirilmiştir. Anahtar kelimeler: Türkiye, Trakya, Gala Gölü, Avifauna, Kuş.
SUMMARY This study was carried to determine the bird species occurring on the Gala Lake and its surroundings. The area surveyed Was in Meriç-Ergene basin, situated at about 10 km northwest of Enez in Edirne province. In the study area a total of 90 days of observations were performed during the 18 months period with monthly intervals between February 1997 and July 1998. As a result, 134 bird species belonging to 41 families and 14 orders were determined. The bird species were grouped and Turkish names were given according to Kasparek & Bilgin (1996). Also, their monthly numbers and positions in the "Red data" list were summarised in tables. Of 134 species; 29 were permanent residents, 64 were summer migrants, 26 were winter migrants. A total of 30 species were observed accidentally. It has also been found that 23 species breed in the study area. The highest frequency of the bird species in winter period was 51 in January 1998, and the lowest frequency was 28 in February 1997. The highest frequency of the bird species in summer period was 70 in June 1998, and the lowest frequency was 37 in March 1 998. The positions and categories of the bird species that are found in the "Red Data" list are as follows; 3 species are in A.1.2, 23 species are in A.2, 31 species are in A.3, 19 species are A.4, 6 species are in B.2, 11 species are in B.3. Further more, the threatening factors in terms of Ornithology of the Gala Lake and surroundings were discussed. The solutions for these problems were suggested. Key Words: Turkey, Gala Lake, Avifauna, Bird
