ÖZET BÂZI HIYAR ÇEŞİTLERİNDE LENTİSEL YO?UNLU?UNUN MUHAFAZA SÜRESİ VE KALİTE ÖZELLİKLERİNİN DE?İŞİMİ ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ Bu araştırmada, hıyar yüzeyinde bulunan lentisellerin yoğunluğunun ve büyüklüğünün ağırlık kaybı ve diğer kalite kriterleri üzerine olan etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, Beith Alpha, Silor, Medina II, Melita, Donja-Mix ve Yerli Çeşit kullanılmıştır. Hıyarlar, oda koşullarında (21°C ve %72-73 oransal nem) ve soğutucuda (4°C ve %90- 95 oransal nem) 15 gün süre ile depolanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, lentisel yoğunluğu ve lentisel büyüklüğünün ağırlık kaybı üzerinde etkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan Yerli Çeşit'in lentisel yoğunluğu, diğer çeşitlere oranla fazla bulunmuştur. Aynı çeşidin ağırlık kaybının da diğer çeşitlere oranla fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Silor Çeşidi'nde ise, lentisel yoğunluğunun çok az olmasına rağmen ağırlık kaybı fazla olmuştur. Bunun nedeni, bu çeşidin lentisel büyüklüğünün fazla olmasıdır. Diğer çeşitlerde, lentisel yoğunluğu ile ağırlık kaybı arasında doğrusal bir ilişki saptanmıştır. II SUMMARY THB BFFECT OF LENTİCEL DENSİTY AND SİZE ON THB STORAGE PBRİOD AND CHANGB OF THB QUALİTY CKARACTERİSTİCS İN SOME CUCUMBER VARİETİES The effect of lenticel density and size on the losses of weight and other quallty characteristics were investigated in this research. The cultivars, Beith Alpha, Silor, Medina H, Melita, Donja-Mix and a local cucumber varieties were used. Cucumbers were stored under room (21°C and 72-73 % RH) and refrigerator (4°C and 90-95 % RH) conditions for 15 days. it was determined that lenticel density and diameter was effective on the weight losses.The lenticel density of the local cucumber cultivar.was found higher than the others. Also it was found that the weight losses of the local cultivars were higher than the others. Despite the fact that the ev. Silor had the lowest lenticel density among the cucumbers, the weight loss was the highest a linear correlation.
