Altough, biological psychiatry advences the causes of OCD are as yet unknown. In adition to heterogeneity of OCD, confusion of subclinical diagnosis and spectrum of OCD are diffucult to obtain biological evidence. The genetic and familial studies on OCD show a higher frequency of the psychiatric disorder than expected in relatives. Discovering the familial, twin and candidate gene studies, not only helps determine the pathogenesis of the disease but also offers a possible treatment and diagnosis strategies.
