Both methanolic extract and ethanolic extract of Zingiber officinale L. seed exhibited strong total antioxidant activity. These-various antioxidant activities were compared with synthetic antioxidants such as butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene, Trolox, alpha-tocopherol and ascorbic acid.
