The lines were evaluated with pure-line selection. Morphological characters such as main stem length (cm), number of branches per plant, leaf length (cm), leaf weight (g), leaf/stem ratio, pods/main stem and seeds/pod as well as agricultural green fodder yield (t ha(-1)), dry matter yield (t ha-1), seed yield (t ha(-1)), crude protein (%), protein yield (t ha(-1)) were investigated in Tekirdag (Turkey) during 1997-1999 under dry conditions. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with three replicates. Protein yield (1.33 t ha(-1)), green fodder yield (27.76 t ha(-1)), dry matter yield (7.34 t ha(-1)) and grain yield (2.67 t ha(-1)) of candidate varieties 16-DY and 16-K were determined to be higher than other lines.
