Bach’dan eğitim alarak başlamıştır. C. P. E. Bach, Barok dönemden Klasik döneme geçişte, yapmış olduğu besteler ile yeni döneme katkı sağlamıştır. Bestelemiş olduğu eserlerinde, flüt konçertolarına ve sonatlarına yer vermiş, flüt repertuvarına önemli eserler bırakmıştır. Kilise müzikleri, senfoniler ve şarkılar da bestelemiştir. Klavye üzerine yazmış olduğu denemelerle, 18.yüzyıl müzikal düşüncesine yenilik getirmiştir. C. P. E. Bach, hayatını müziğe adamış ve yaptığı çalışmalarla Klasik müziğin gelişmesine destek olmuştur. Bu araştırmada, C. P. E. Bach’ın yaşamı, müzik tarihindeki önemi; flütün tarihsel gelişimi ve yapısal özellikleri incelenmiştir. Flüt ve orkestra için yazdığı Re Minör flüt konçertosunun önemi araştırılmış, karşılaşılacak teknik zorlukların giderilmesi için öneriler sunulmuştur.Born as a member of the Bach family, C. P. E.
