Variation of material properties of the nanotube is considered in exponential form. The nonlocal Rayleigh-Bishop rod model has been used in the modeling of nanotubes. Solution of the differential equation of motion with variable coefficients has been obtained with the numerical Haar Wavelet method. The effect of material grading index on the longitudinal wave response of axially graded nanotube have been investigated. Present results could be useful in the design of nano-wires. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
