The Druze attempted to protect their traditional laws during the period of Ibrahim Pasha, and the Maronites began to gain autonomy in their legal status along the political process. This study examines the political and legal status of the Druze and Maronites during the Egyptian rule and shows the legal changes that occurred in these two sects during the Ottoman administration. © 2020 Islam Tetkikleri Dergisi.
