Özet

The principal findings in newborn's hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy are widespread brain edema, cortical, periventricular and basal ganglionic hypodensity and watershed infarcts. Recently, a different finding termed 'reversal sign' in grey matter-white matter density is defined according to CT findings of these cases. In this study we defined 'reversal sign' in 13 newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and examined the relations of these data with clinical and EEG findings. We followed up these cases during 3-13 months except one newborn who died when he was one day old and discussed the late findings of CT and the effect of reversal sign on clinical symptoms.
