Özet
‘Antik Dönem’de Kadın ve Dans’ adlı bu tez çalışmasında; MÖ 8. yüzyıl ve MÖ 4. yüzyıl aralığına tarihlenen Attika vazo resimlerinde kadınların yer aldığı dans sahneleri belirlenerek, dans ettikleri ortamlar ve dans türleri incelenmiştir. Dans edilen ortamlar; cenazeler, düğünler, tanrıçalar adına düzenlenen festivaller/bayramlar, symposionlar ve eğitim olarak sınıflanmıştır. Kadınların sosyal/kültürel nedenlere bağlı olarak sınırlandırılmış bu ortamlarda gerçekleştirdikleri on bir dans türü belirlenmiştir. Çalışma, kamusal alanlarda kadınların yerlerini ve faaliyetlerini görmek açısından önem kazanan, antik yazarların kadın ve dans hakkında verdikleri bilgiler ile de desteklenmiştir.
In concept of the thesis "Women and Dance in Antiquity"; women's dance scenes from the 8th century BC to the 4th century BC which were depicted on Attica Vases studied through the represented environments and dance types. Background of the drawings that represent the environment were classified as festivals, celebrations, symposions and educational places. Eleven different types of dances were identified by the environments constricted by social and cultural needs of women. This study was enriched by the descriptions of famous antique authors that gives important clues about activities and place of women in public space.
