Astımlı çocuklar için tasarlanan video animasyon eğitiminin astım yönetimi ve yaşam kalitesine etkisi

dc.description.abstractAraştırma; 7-11 yaş astımlı çocukların astım yönetimine yönelik tasarlanan animasyon videosunun semptom kontrolü, inhaler kullanma becerisi ve yaşam kalitelerine etkisini belirlemek amacı ile randomize kontrollü olarak yürütüldü. Araştırma, Ocak 2019 – Şubat 2021 tarihleri arasında yapıldı. Araştırmanın örneklemini, astım tanılı 7-11 yaş 78 çocuk (deney=39; kontrol=39) oluşturdu. Araştırma verileri; Çocuk ve Aile Bilgi Formu, Çocukluk Çağı Astım Kontrol Testi, Çocuklar için Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği, İnhaler Kullanma Beceri Değerlendirme Formu, Astım Semptom ve Tedavi İhtiyacı Skorlaması kullanılarak toplandı. Veriler tanımlayıcı analizler, Bağımsız Örneklem t Testi ve Mann Whitney U Testi, Freeman-Halton Fisher's Exact Testi ve Varyans analizi kullanılarak değerlendirildi. İstatistiksel anlamlılık sınır değeri p<0,05 olarak kabul edildi. Animasyon video eğitimi verilen deney grubundaki çocukların kontrol grubundaki çocuklara göre 2. ve 3. izlemde inhaler kullanma becerileri daha iyi bulundu (p<0,001). Deney grubundaki çocukların 3.izleme kadar kullandıkları kurtarıcı ilaç miktarı, geçirdikleri atak sayısı, acil servise başvuru sayısı ve 3. izlemde semptom skor puanları kontrol grubundan anlamlı derecede düşüktü (p<0,05). Deney grubundaki çocukların 3. izlem astım kontrol puanları yüksekti (p<0,01). Deney grubundaki çocukların 3. izlemde yaşam kalitesi toplam ve psikososyal sağlık puan ortalamaları yüksekti (p<0,05). Sonuç olarak, çocukların astım yönetimine yönelik tasarlanan "Astımla Yaşamak" adlı animasyon videosunun, semptom kontrolü, inhaler kullanma becerisi ve yaşam kalitelerine olumlu etkisinin olduğu bulundu. Animasyon eğitim videosunun astımlı çocukların eğitiminde kullanılması önerilmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental research to determine the effect of the animation video designed for asthma management of children aged 7-11 years on symptom control, inhaler use skills and quality of life. The research was conducted between January 2019 and February 2021. The sample of the study consisted of 78 children (experiment=39; control =39) diagnosed with asthma, aged 7-11 years. The data were collected using the Child and Family Information Form, Childhood Asthma Control Test, Pediatric Quality of Life Questionnare, Inhaler Usage Skills Assessment Form, Asthma Symptom and Treatment Need Scoring. Data were analyzed using descriptive analyses, Independent Sample t Test, Mann Whitney U Test, Freeman-Halton Fisher's Exact Test and Variance Analysis. Statistical significance limit value was accepted as p<0,05. Children in the experimental group who were given animation video education had higher inhaler usage skills in the 2nd and 3rd follow-up compared to the children in the control group (p<0,001). The amount of rescue medication usage in the last 3 months, the number of asthma exacerbations they had, the number of emergency hospital visits and the symptom scores at the third follow-up were significantly lower than the control group (p<0.05). Children in the experimental group had higher asthma control scores at the 3rd follow-up (p<0,01). At the third follow-up, the children in the experimental group had higher mean scores of total quality of life and psychosocial health (p<0.05). As a result, it was found that the animation video "Living with Asthma", designed for asthma management of children with asthma, had a positive effect on symptom control, inhaler usage skills and quality of life.
