Özet

Infection of burn wounds is an unwanted complication. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the most common microorganism isolated from burn wounds. This microorganism not only prevents the healing of wounds but may also cause septicemia. In this study, in vitro synergic effects of silver sulfadiazine and cephalosporins on the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa which is isolated from burn wound was investigated. Plate-Diffusion and Paper-Strip Gradient tests were performed for demonstrating the synergic effect. It was determinated that silver sulfadiazine and cephalosporins have synergic effect on the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
