This study aims to investigate the family stress and resilience levels of parents with children with special needs in terms of various variables. Within the scope of the research, it was aimed to examine whether there is a significant difference between the variables mentioned in the socio-demographic characteristics (age, gender, marital status, education level and diagnosis of the child) and family resilience status of families with special needs children. In addition, it was also investigated which variables affected the stress levels and resilience levels of family members. The relational survey model, which is one of the general survey models, was used as the research model. As data collection tools, the “Personal Information Form", “Family Resilience Scale" and "Family Stress Assessment Scale" were used. First, the “Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient” was calculated to determine the relationship between the variables. According to the results gained from the research, the stress grade of mothers is significantly higher than fathers. The findings of this research have represented that the stress grade of mothers is higher than fathers’ at a significant level. In this study, it has been discovered the stress grade of parents with special needs children does not differentiate according to age, educational level, obstacle type of the child, and socioeconomic level. In respect of family resilience grade, the family resilience grade of the mother and father has been found not to differ according to the stated variables. Finally, it has been seen that the assessment scale scores of the family stress obtained by participants and the family resilience grade do not correlate with each other.
