Abstract
Bu çalışma, Cumhuriyet dönemi sanatçılarından Ercüment Behzat Lav (1903-1984)?ın birçok yönünün dışında konu olarak şairliğini ve sanat anlayışını esas alır. Ercüment Behzat, Türk şiirinde geleneksel şiire karşı çıkan ilk şairlerden biridir. Ne var ki o modern şiirin ilk adımı olmasına karşın Türk edebiyatı içerisinde arka planda kalmış bir şairdir. Oysa Ercüment Behzat, Türk şiiri geleneği karşısında ölçülü-uyaklı şiire karşı çıkanların ilkidir. Döneminde henüz Türk şiirinde denenmemiş Batı akımlarından Sürrealizm, Fütürizm, Kübizm ve Dadaizmi yerli temalara uygulamış ve Türk şiirinde ironinin ilk ayaklarından biri olmuştur. Sanat hayatına, oynadığı film ve tiyatro oyunculuklarının yanında beş şiir kitabı ve iki tiyatro metni sığdırmıştır. şiirlerinde uzay çağından insanın her alandaki sömürüsüne kadar bireysel ve toplumsal temalara yer veren sanatçı geniş bir tema zenginliğine sahiptir. Bu açıdan şiirde birçok biçim denemesine girişmiş ve konuya uygun olarak dilini oluşturmuş yetkin bir şairdir. Ayrıca ironi, şiirinde kullandığı önemli unsurlardan biri olmuştur. Birçok eleştirmen tarafından yenilikçi, deneyci, gelenek karşısında yıkıcı bir şair olarak görülse de, o gerçekte gölgede kalmış bir sanatçıdır. Bu açıdan tezimizin konusu olan şairi ele almada onu Türk edebiyatı içerisindeki haklı yerine koymak, şimdiye değin hakkında çok fazla çalışma olmaması nedeniyle edebiyat dünyasına tanıtmak, şair hakkında yapılacak çalışmalara bir kaynak olabilmek amaçlanmıştır.

As a topic, this work analyzes one of the Republic Period artists-Ercüment Behzat Lav (1903-1984)?s poesy and sense of art, aside from his many other aspects. Ercüment Behzat is one of the pioneer poets protesting traditional poetry in Turkish poetry. Despite the fact that he was the first step in modern poetry, he is a poet who remained in the background of the Turkish literature. In fact, Ercüment Behzat is the first person to protest the poetic rhyme and measure in Turkish poetry tradition. He adopted western movements like Surrealism, Futurism, Cubism and Dadaism which were never yet tried in Turkish Poetry in his era, applied them to local themes, and became one of the backbones of irony in Turkish poetry. Besides his performances in movies and plays, he also squeezed in his art life five poetry books and two theater scripts. The artist, who covered a variety of individual and social themes from space age to human exploitation in every area, has a broad theme abundance. In this respect, he is a competent poet who attempted many poetic forms and adjusted his language in accordance with the subject. Also, irony is one of the important elements that he used in his poetry. Although he was regarded by many critics as a poet who was avant-garde, experimenter and a reformer against tradition, in fact he is an artist who remained in the shadows. Therefore, by approaching the poet who is the subject of our thesis, we aim to put him in the place he deserves in Turkish literature, to introduce him to literary world because there is not much research done on him so far, and to represent a resource in the service of researches that are to be done on the poet.
