Özet
Müzik öğretmenliği, sanatsal gelişim açısından belirleyici rol oynayan faktörler arasında yer alan bir meslektir ve toplumların sanatsal olarak ileriye taşınmasında temel işlevler üstlenebileceği bir potansiyeli içermektedir. Ancak, öğretmenlik mesleğin Türkiye’de ki tarihsel gelişimi doğrultusundaki konumu göz önüne alındığında, bu potansiyelin çok boyutlu bir kapsamda değerlendirilerek işlevselliğinin güçlendirilmesine yönelik yeni yaklaşımlar ve uygulamalara gereksinim olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Türkiye’de Müzik öğretmenliği mesleğinin toplumsal olarak hak ettiği bir konuma ulaşmış olduğu söylenemez. Bu araştırmaya yönelik olarak uygulana anketten elde edilen veriler de bu durumu destekler bir nitelik taşımakta ve müzik öğretmenliğinin tercih edilen bir meslek olarak öne çıkmadığı görülmektedir. Ayrıca, öğrencilerin okullarındaki müzik derslerini ve bu kapsamdaki etkinlikleri yeterli görmedikleri, ailelerin eğitim ve maddi gelir düzeylerinin, yaşadıkları çevresel koşulların da müzik öğretmenliği mesleğinin seçimi üzerinde etkileri olduğu anlaşılmaktadır.
Music teaching is a profession that is among the factors that play a decisive role in terms of artistic development, and it contains a potential where it can undertake basic functions in moving societies forward artistically. However, considering the position of the teaching profession in line with its historical development in Turkey, it is understood that there is a need for new approaches and practices to reinforce its functionality by evaluating this potential in a multidimensional context. It cannot be said that the music teaching profession has reached a socially deserved position in Turkey. The data obtained from the survey applied for this research also supports this situation and it is seen that music teaching does not stand-out as a preferred profession. In addition, it is understood that the students do not see the music lessons in their schools and the activities within this scope sufficient, and the education and financial income levels of the families and the environmental conditions they live in have an impact on the choice of the music teaching profession.
