| dc.description.abstract | 413 SUMMARY Nâ'ilî-i Kadîm who lived in the 17.,h century is considered one of our greatest poets and the avantgarde of the "Sebk-i Hindi Style" in our literature. Nâ'ilî was born in Istanbul. His real name is Mustafa. His father was a person who w#s called "Pîrî-zâde Halîfe". The only position that Nâ'ilî could attain during his life time was the "Maden Kaleminde Ser-halîfe" position. The poet earned his living from this official work. Nâ'ilî died in 1666 in Istanbul. The only remains that we have of him is his "Dîvân". In his "Dîvân" there are his poems of about 4413 verses in lenghth. The poet used mostly Arabic and Persion in his poems. Furthermore, while writing his poems he used a heavy language which consisted of Persian triplet and quartet complements and compound adjectives. The poems that he wrote in song style are more plain than his other poems. The convey of an abstract concept by means of a concrete concept is a stylistic feauture that is frequently seen in the poems of Nâ'ilî. The images that are seen in his poems are tiny and detailed, whereas the meanings are in a spiral state. Nâ'ilî put some sayings in to his poems, too. The main subject that he dealt with in his poems is mysticism(sufism). Besides this he has many poems in which he dealt with the subject of 'love". In addition, we can see some speeches of wisdom in his poems. | en_US |
