dc.description.abstract"Bacasız sanayi" olarak da adlandırılan turizm sektörünün ülke ekonomileri ve halkın yaşam biçimleri üzerinde doğrudan ve dolaylı etkileri bulunmaktadır. Bu etkilerin başlıcaları sosyal ve ekonomik olarak incelenmektedir. Hızlı gelişen turizm alanlarında, yerli halk yöreye gelen turistlere uyum sağlamak zorundadır. Aksi takdirde istenmeyen problemler yaşanabilir. Turizm bölgelerinde yaşayan halkın, zaman içinde turizm hareketlerinin hızı ve ölçeğine karşı belirli duyarlılıklar sergilemesi mümkündür. Bu araştırma, bir sınır kenti olan ve zengin kültürel geçmişi bulunan Edirne'de gerçekleştirilmiştir. Edirne halkının turizmi ve turizmin etkilerini nasıl algıladığını ve bu olguya karşı nasıl bir tutum sergilediğini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Edirne halkının turizme karşı tutumu ve turizm etkilerini algılama biçimleri, Edirne'de yürütülen anket soruşturması aracılığı ile saptanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre Edirne halkı genelde turizme karşı olumlu bir tutum sergilemektedir. Yerli halk Edirne'ye daha çok turistin gelmesini sağlayacak girişimleri desteklemektedir. dc.description.abstractTourism sector, which is regarded as a "smokeless industry" has a direct and indirect impacts on the economies and the way of life of public. The main impacts of tourism are social and economic impacts. The residents of tourism must annually accommodate to the influx of tourists. Otherwise, unrequired problems will occur. Local residents of communities, may be expected to exhibit a certain sensitivity to the pace and scale of tourist activity. This study materialized in Edirne which is a border city and has rich cultural history. This study aims, to investigate residents' attitude toward tourism and seeks to answer the question of how residents of Edirne perceive tourism and the impacts of tourism on the community. These are achieved by survey research conducted in Edirne. From the obtained results of survey research, residents of Edirne show a generally positive attitude toward tourism. Local residents support new developments that will attract more tourists to Edirne. According to local public, these new developments gain positive impacts to Edirne economy.
