In this study, the 2008 US crisis and its reflections on world economies are discussed. The crisis, which emerged in the USA in 2007 and increased its scope and influence over time, turned into a global financial crisis in 2008. Therefore, it has had negative effects on the world economies, especially on the economies of developed countries. Economic and financial crises that can occur in different parts of the world can take on a global character and affect all world economies. Despite the fact that the economic measures taken in developed countries within the scope of the global crisis were insufficient in spreading the crisis and reducing its effects, it was seen that they had positive effects in achieving global recovery over time. Due to the rapid slowdown in economic activities on a global scale during the process, a decline was observed in the growth rates of the countries. This situation increased unemployment rates and caused a serious pressure in the financial sector. However, it can be said that the Turkish economy suffered less damage from the crisis compared to the economies of developed countries. Although the financial sector in Turkey did not experience serious difficulties during the crisis, it had negative effects such as a decrease in production and an increase in unemployment due to the worldwide contraction in the real sector. Despite this, when the effects of the global crisis on the world economies are evaluated in general, it is seen that the measures taken to get out of the crisis have positive effects in terms of improvement in the economies of developed countries and developing countries.
