All of the economical, social, cultural, political and touristic activities are gaining importance under the extent of rapidity, credibility, comforts, capacity and economical advantages of transport sector in our contemporary circumstances. Especially transport is an indispensable component for the tourism sector. The railways have to be regarded as the primary transport instrument among the transport classes because of its economic advantages, security, growing rapidity originated by technological improvements and low range of creating ecological pollution. Therefore, railway transport has to be supported in the touristic fields in case of touristic activities that are compatible with natural ambience. The necessity of supporting the development of the railway network is obvious if we consider the tendency of world tourism towards ecological tourism. In this sense the Trace subregion, including the cities of Edirne, Kirklareli and Tekirdag, tying Europe and Asia one with another, contained by three different coasts and where 3/4 of its territory are agriculture fields, has been selected as a sample region. The Trace subregion is including countless historical, cultural, social and natural fields within its borders which are subject to a great touristic potential. However, the ecological qualities of the region are damaged rapidly by uncontrolled and rapidly developing industry, using only the highways and improper land using. The aim of the declaration is to evaluate the contemporary usage of the railway network, which has the lowest effects on ecology among the transport instruments in the places, where the touristic activities can be carried out compatible with the natural ambience in the Trace subregion and suggesting new usage types for the field under the extent of the sustainability of this network.en_US
