Özet
The concept of space is a concept that has been constantly discussed in many areas from the past to the present. The concept of space, which has an aesthetic problematic especially in the field of art, has not only been an increasingly important subject in artistic disciplines throughout history, but has also become a new language of expression in the production of the artist's work. The concept of space in the production of work can be considered as a real understanding of space with physical reality and an abstract understanding of space without physical reality. In this research, the main purpose of the research is to examine the abstract space concept, which has no physical reality in the context of the concept of space, by considering the works of Helen Frankenthaler and Nicolas de Stael. The relationship between work and space has begun to be questioned with the 20th century, and the art has become integrated with the audience. From this perspective, the traditional viewer understanding has revealed the audience profile that questions its place, experiences, and becomes a part of the space and art object. Since this research will present different perspectives for the perception of the space by the artist or the audience, the study titled A review of the space understanding in Helen Frankenthaler and Nicolas de Stael works is thought to be an important resource for educators and researchers.
