dc.description.abstractReasonings concerning with the dreams which had been regarded as a divine and cautionary message, as a celestial source of information by the eastern scholars; had filled of men of letters' minds as the same way that they had filled the scholars' and those who are wise; also became material of thought for the literary works which had been produced by Turkish – Islamic literature. Several theories which are responsive for the answers to the questions concerning that what the dream, maybe the most mysterious mental activity which belongs to mankind is; took places at poems, especially at the several parts of Mesnevis as well as scientific, philosofical or tasavvufian works. In this article, we are going to try to follow the theorical enlightenments with regard to the essence and function of the dreams, sort of the dreams and interpretation of the dreams; from the Mesnevis that consigned to writining by Yûsuf Hâs Hâcib, Sultân Veled, Âşık Paşa, Hoca Mes’ûd, Mu’înî, Hamdullâh Hamdî, Lârendeli Hamdî, Vücûdî, Yahyâ Bey, Lâmi’î, Hasan Ziyâ’î, Şâhî and Sâlim Efendi. By this means, we aim to notice that what degree did the Divan Poetry in general and specificly the Mesnevis interest about the subjects that included in science, philosophy and religion; also how did the poets make use of this genre to express their opinions. © 2018 Hacettepe University 1.
