Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'ndeki sigara içen öğrencilerin sigaradan beklentilerinin değerlendirilmesi

Özet
Bu araştırmada Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'ndeki sigara içen öğrencilerin sigaradan beklentilerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın kapsamında 298 öğrenciden veri toplanmıştır. Araştırmaya 18 yaş üzeri, araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllülük gösteren, sigara içen, Trakya Üniversitesi'nde tıp fakültesi öğrencisi olan bireyler dahil edilmiştir. Psikiyatrik hastalığı olanlar ve iletişimi engelleyecek problemi olanlar hariç bırakılmıştır. Katılımcılara verilen anket formunda sosyodemografik bilgilere yönelik 16 soru ile Sigaradan Beklentiler Ölçeği-Yetişkin Formu (25 soru) yer almaktadır. SPSS 19 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 19, seri no:10240642) istatistik programı kullanılarak veriler analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre kadınların erkeklere göre olumsuz fiziksel duygular beklentisi daha yüksek bulunmuştur. 18-20 yaş grubu ve 1. sınıftaki öğrenciler iştah/kilo kontrolü ve can sıkıntısı azaltma ve sosyal kolaylaştırma beklentisi daha yüksektir. 6. sınıftaki öğrencilerin sağlık riskleri beklentisi daha yüksektir. Gelir düzeyi düşük olanların daha yüksek stimülasyon/durum iyileştirme beklentisi mevcuttur. VKİ zayıf olanların stimülasyon/durum iyileştirme, aşerme/bağımlılık ve sosyal kolaylaştırma beklentisi daha düşüktür. Ailesinde sigara içen bireylerin stimülasyon/durum iyileştirme ve aşerme/bağımlılık beklentisi daha yüksektir. Arkadaş çevresinde sigara içen birisi olanların stimülasyon/durum iyileştirme beklentisi daha yüksektir. Alkol kullananların aşerme/bağımlılık beklentisi daha yüksektir. Günlük 1-10 adet sigara içenlerin sosyal kolaylaştırma beklentisi daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Bu araştırmanın sonucunda bireylerin sosyodemografik özelliklerine göre sigaradan beklentilerinin farklılaştığı izlenmiştir. Kişilerin sigara bırakma sürecinde bu beklentilerinin dikkate alınıp ona yönelik kişiye özgün sigara bırakma tedavileri düzenlenmelidir. Anahtar Kelimeler: sigara içme, beklentiler, Aile Hekimliği
The aim of this study was to evaluate the expectations of smoking among students who smoke at the Faculty of Medicine at Trakya University. Data was collected from 298 students within the scope of the study. Individuals over the age of 18, who voluntarily participated in the study, were smoking students in the Faculty of Medicine at Trakya University, were included, except those with psychiatric illnesses and communication problems. The questionnaire form given to the participants includes a section on sociodemographic information and Brief Smoking Consequences Questionnaire-Adult (BSCQ-A) form. The data was analyzed using the SPSS 19 (no: 10240642) statistical program. According to the research results, women had higher expectations of negative physical feelings than men. The 18-20 age group and first-year students had higher expectations for appetite/weight control, boredom reduction, and social facilitation. Sixth-year students had higher expectations of health risks. Those with low income had higher expectations of stimulation/state enhancement. Those with a low BMI had lower expectations of stimulation/state enhancement, craving/addiction, and social facilitation. Those with family members who smoke had higher expectations of stimulation/state enhancement and craving/addiction. Those with friends who smoke had higher expectations of stimulation/state enhancement. Those who consume alcohol had higher expectations of craving/addiction. Daily smokers (1-10 cigarettes per day) had higher expectations of social facilitation. According to the results of this study, it was observed that individuals' expectations from smoking varied based on their sociodemographic characteristics. Considering these expectations during the smoking cessation process, personalized treatments can be designed for individuals. Keywords: smoking, expectations, Family Medicine
