Özet
Background Orbital manifestation of hydatid cyst can occur in 1%, however, an exudative retinal detachment due to an intraorbital hydatid cyst is an uncommon finding. Case report A 20-year-old Turkish woman with an orbital hydatid cyst and an accompanying exudative retinal detachment. Results Serology and histopathological findings confirmed the diagnosis of an orbital hydatid cyst. After excision of the cyst in tote the retina reattached spontaneously. Conclusion In the differential diagnosis of a proptosis with an exudative retinal detachment, although rare, the diagnosis of an orbital echinococcis should be considered.
