Özet

As a part of the rehabilitation project, approximately 5 million cubic meter sea bottom sediments dredged from the Golden Horn were pumped via a pipeline to a confined land disposal site in Alibeyky. In this study, it is aimed to obtain parameters which are necessary to examine the behavior of the slurry dredged from the Golden Horn by the experiments done in the laboratory. Model test tank, sedimentation-consolidation test set up, and Rowe Cell are used in experimental studies. In the concept of experimental studies, definite block samples, whose stress history is specific, are prepared with Rowe Cell and oedometer and triaxial compression tests are made on the samples that are prepared from these block samples. The slurry that is placed on model test tank and sedimentation-consolidation test set up, is left to self weight consolidation. During consolidation, settlement levels are observed and compared with numerical analysis results. In the test tank, the shear strength tests are made on samples which have four different water contents obtained from self weight consolidation tests verified on four different samples. The data obtained from experiments done on the Golden Horn samples and the data obtained from studies done on similar soils in literature are compared.
