Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinde sosyal medya bağımlılığı ve sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları arasındaki ilişki

Özet
Çalışmamızda Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinin sosyal medya bağımlılık düzeyleri, sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışlarını incelenerek bunları etkileyen faktörler ile ilişkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinden oluşan 1716 kişi oluşturmuştur. Veriler 82 sorudan oluşan anket yardımıyla toplanmıştır.Katılımcıların sosyodemografik faktörlerini sorgulayan 24 soru bulunmaktadır. Ek olarak her katılımcıya 52 soru içeren Sağlıklı Yaşam Biçimi Davranışları Ölçeği ve 6 soru içeren Bergen Sosyal Medya Bağımlılığı Ölçeği uygulanmıştır Katılımcılar %62,42'si kadın ve %37,58'i erkek olmak üzere toplam 623 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. %18,14'ü birinci sınıf, %16,85 ikinci sınıf, %17,98 üçüncü sınıf, %16,05 dördüncü sınıf, %15,57 beşinci sınıf ve %15,41 altıncı sınıf öğrencilerinden katılım sağlanmıştır. Sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ölçeğinden alınan toplam puan ortalaması 170,86±21,71 ve sosyal medya bağımlılık ölçeğinin ortalama puanı 13,86±4,9 olarak bulunmuştur. Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinde sosyal medya bağımlılık düzeyleri ve sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışlarını etkileyen faktörlerin değerlendirildiği çalışmamızda obez öğrencilerin, sınıf tekrarı yapanların, sigara kullananların, geliri giderinden az olanların, uyku kalitesi kötü olanların ve uykusuzluk çekenlerin, depresyon ön tanısı olanların sağlıklı yaşam biçimi anlamlı olarak daha düşük bulunurken derslere katılımı olmayan öğrencilerin, düzenli egzersiz yapanların ise yüksek saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin sosyal medya platformlarında en sık WhatsApp, Youtube ve Instagram' ı kullandıkları tespit edilirken kadın öğrencilerin, derslere katılımı olmayan öğrencilerin, sosyal medya kullananların, Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat kullanan öğrencilerin, kendini sosyal medya bağımlısı olarak görenlerin, uyku kalitesi kötü olanların ve uykusuzluk çekenlerin, depresyon ön tanısı olanların sosyal medya bağımlılığının daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Bunun aksine geliri giderinden daha fazla olanların, ilaç kullanmayan öğrencilerin sosyal medya bağımlılığının daha az olduğu saptanmıştır. Sağlıklı yaşam biçimi ile sosyal medya kullanımı, WhatsApp, Facebook vb. platformların kullanımı ve sosyal medya bağımlılığı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilememiştir. Bu çalışmanın, sosyal medyanın doğru kullanımı, sağlıklı yaşam sürüdürülebilmesi için yapılması gereken uygulamaların öneminin vurgulanması ve buna yönelik yaklaşımlarda yol gösterici olması beklenmektedir. In our study, it was aimed to examine the social media addiction levels and healthy lifestyle behaviors of Trakya University Faculty of Medicine students and to determine their relationship with the factors affecting them. The sample of the study consisted of 1716 students from Trakya University Faculty of Medicine. The data were collected with the help of a questionnaire consisting of 82 questions. There are 24 questions that questioning the sociodemographic factors of the participants. In addition, the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale containing 52 questions and the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale containing 6 questions were applied to each participant. Participants consisted of a total of 623 students, of which 62.42% were female and 37.58% were male. Participation was obtained from 18.14% first grade, 16.85% second grade, 17.98% third grade, 16.05% fourth grade, 15.57% fifth grade and 15.41% sixth grade students. The mean total score obtained from the healthy lifestyle behaviors scale was found to be 170.86±21.71 and the mean score of the social media addiction scale was 13.86±4.9. In our study, in which the factors affecting social media addiction levels and healthy lifestyle behaviors in medical students of Trakya University Medical School were evaluated, the healthy lifestyle of obese students, those who grade retention, those who smoke, those with low income and expense, those with poor sleep quality and insomnia, and those with preliminary diagnosis of depression were found to be statistically significant while the students who do not attend the classes and those who exercise regularly are found to be higher. It has been determined that students use WhatsApp, Youtube and Instagram most frequently as social media platforms, while female students, students who do not attend classes, those who use social media, students who use Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat, those who see themselves as social media addicts, those who have poor sleep quality, who have a preliminary diagnosis of depression and those who suffer from insomnia have found to be social media addiction is higher. On the contrary, it was determined that the students whose income is higher than their expenses and who do not use medication have less social media addiction. No significant relationship was found between social media usage and healthy lifestyle and the use of platforms, WhatsApp, Facebook etc. It is expected that this study will emphasize the importance of the practices that need to be done for the proper use of social media and to lead a healthy life and to guide the approaches towards this.
