Abstract
Çalışmanın amacı, Elin Pelin ve “Geraklar” adlı eseri ile ilgili yapılan araştırma ve inceleme sonuçlarını bilime sunmaktır. Çalışma, giriş ve sonuç dışında üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Yeni Bulgar Edebiyatı’nın dönemleri incelenecektir. Önemli yazarları ve eserleri belirtilecektir. İkinci bölümde Elin Pelin’in biyografisi ve edebi yaratıcılığı incelenecektir. Üçüncü bölümde ise modernleşme süreci ile “Geraklar” adlı eserin temel unsurları incelenecektir. Bulgar Edebiyatı’nın önemli yazarlarından biri olan Elin Pelin, köy hayatının anlatıcısı olarak kendini kabul ettirmiştir. Pelin, 1877 yılında Sofya’nın Baylovo köyünde doğmuştur ve çocukluğu aydın babası ve eğitimli kardeşleri ile birlikte kendi köyünde geçmiştir. Kırsal alanda yaşamanın getirdiği zorlukları tecrübe etmiştir. Eğitim hayatını tamamlayamayan Pelin, çocukluk yıllarında yaşadığı coğrafyanın ve eğitimine devam ederken tecrübe ettiği şehir hayatının kendisinde bıraktığı izleri eserlerinde yansıtmıştır. Şehirde bulunduğu süreçte yaşadığı zorluklar, dünya görüşünde belirleyici bir rol oynamıştır ve Pelin’i köy hayatına yaklaştırmış, köy insanını daha da sıcak ve samimi bulmasına neden olmuştur. Eserlerinde konu olarak köy hayatı, karakter olarak da köy insanı sıklıkla kullanılmıştır. Elin Pelin’in “Geraklar” adlı eseri, köyde yaşayan Yordan Gerak ve ailesinin, modernleşme sürecine girilmesi ile yaşadığı değişimleri konu almıştır. Pelin, Gerak ailesinin toprağa ve verdikleri emeğe olan bakış açılarını, yaşam koşullarının neden ve nasıl değiştiğini, olay örgüsü içinde işlemiştir. Olay örgüsünde verilmek istenen ayrıntılar, karakterler ve mekânlar üzerinde ayrı ayrı konumlandırılmıştır.

The purpose of this study is to present the research and investigation results on Elin Pelin and his work "The Gerak Family" to science. The study has three parts other than introduction and conclusion. In the first part, New Bulgarian Literature are examined. The major events in history of the literature is indicated. In the second part, Elin Pelin's biography and literary creativity is investigated. In the third part, the modernization process and the elements of "The Gerak Family" work have been examined. As one of the most important writers of Bulgarian literature, Elin Pelin has established himself as the narrator of village life. Pelin was born in Baylovo village, Sofia in 1877 and his childhood had past in the village along with his intellectual father and educated brothers. He experienced the challenges of living in rural areas. Pelin could not complete his education. He reflected the images of the geography of his childhood and the city life he experienced while training, in his work. Difficulties that he had experienced in the city had played a decisive role in his worldview, made Pelin closer to village life and caused him to think of village people more warm and friendly. The village life were often used as the subject in his works, and the village people as the characters. Elin Pelin's "The Gerak Family" work subjects changes of Yordan Gerak and his family’s life who lives in the village, in the process of modernization. Pelin explained the plot in his work that land and labour in perspective of Gerak family, how and why changed the conditions of their life. To be given details, characters and places are positioned separately in the plot.
