Özet
OBJECTIVES: To present a woman with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) who used colchicine throughout her pre-conceptional, pregnancy and breast feeding period. CASE: Twenty five-year-old gravida 2, para 1, pregnant woman with FMF was admitted to our clinic at the 8th gestational week of her pregnancy. Patient was followed under colchicine treatment throughout her pre-conceptional, pregnancy and breastfeeding period and nor side effects due to treatment neither complications as a result of FMF were observed. All clinical examinations and laboratory results were normal except elevated C-reactive protein (CRP). CONCLUSION: Our findings support the literature; colchicine use in pregnancy is safe and it can prevent possible acute attacks and nephropathy due to FMF. Data from large series of patients is needed to determine whether amniocentesis is requisite in consequence of colchicine use.
