Abstract
Ağırlıklı olarak Metropolis’in Hellenistik ve Roma Dönemi sürecinde kullanılmış bronz eserler Metropolisliler’in günlük yaşamlarına dair bilgi verebilecek niteliktedir. Ancak bronz, özellikle Geç Antik Dönem ve Ortaçağ’da ergitilerek tekrar kullanılan bir malzeme olduğu için günümüze çok sayıda örnek ulaşmamıştır. Metropolis’de 1989 yılında kazıların ilk başladığı dönemden günümüze kadar olan zaman dilimi içinde kazı envanterine kaydedilmiş olan 94 eser (günlük kullanım amacına yönelik objeler) bu çalışma kapsamında ele alınmıştır. Öncelikle eserler üzerinde konservasyon çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ağır korozyonlu örnekler çalışma dışı bırakılmıştır. Kentin farklı noktalarında bulunmuş eserlerin büyük bir bölümü Roma Dönemi’ne aittir. Az sayıda örnek Hellenistik ve Bizans Dönemlerine tarihlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada ele alınan bronz eserler birçok farklı tipten meydana gelmektedir. Çalışmada ilk olarak Metropolis antik kenti ile ilgili genel bilgilere yer verilmiş daha sonra bronz ve bronz eser üretimine değinilmiştir. Eserler işlevlerine göre sınıflandırılmış ve kendi içlerinde de gruplara ayrılmışlardır. Sonraki bölümlerde buluntular hakkında bilgi ve çizimlerin bulunduğu kataloga yer verilmiştir.
Abstract
Mainly used bronze works during the Hellenistic and Roman of Metropolis have the qualification to information about the daily lives of Metropolis people. However, bronze, for dissolving to be used again a material especially from Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages didn’t reach many examples of the present. In 1989 Metropolis, from the first begining of the excavations to within a period until today, recorded in the inventory of the excavation 94 objects (for the purpose of objects of daily use) scope of this study are discussed Firstly, conservation work on the works conducted by research. Examples of heavy corrosion were excluded. A large part of the objects city, in different points belong the Roman Period. Few examples dated to the Hellenistic and Byzantine Periods. Bronze objects involved in the study is composed of many different types. Firstly this study is equipped with general information about the ancient city of Metropolis then mentioned the production of bronze and bronze objects. Objects classified in themselves and divided into groups according to their functions. Catalog contains information about the finds and drawings are presented following chapters.
