Özet
Afet Ilgaz Cumhuriyet döneminin önemli kadın yazarlarından biridir. Sanatçı, ilk eser verdiği tarihten ölümüne kadar geçen süreye roman, hikâye, deneme, çocuk kitabı ve çeviri türlerinde çok sayıda eser sığdırabilecek yetkinliğinin yanında gazetelerde köşe yazarlığı yapabilecek kadar güncel olayların arka plânına vakıf bir edebiyatçıdır. Böylesi çok yönlü bir yazarın romanlarındaki sosyal tenkit unsurlarını belirlemeye yönelik olan bu çalışma, ana hatlarıyla dört bölüme ayrılmıştır. İlk bölüm yazarın tanıtımına, diğer üç bölüm ise romanlarındaki sosyal tenkit unsurlarını belirlemeye ayrılmıştır. Her bir bölümde incelenecek romanlar, yazarın yaşadığı fikrî değişim evrelerini yansıtan niteliklerine göre belirlenmiştir. Bu fikir değişim evreleri ise kısaca sosyalist dönem, geçiş evresi ve İslâmî dönem olarak nitelendirilebilir. Romanlardaki sosyal tenkit unsurları belirlenirken tenkitin ön çalışması mahiyetinde olan tespitleri kolaylaştırmak ve yargıları varsayım zemininden kurtarmak için kaynak olarak sadece romanlarla yetinilmemiştir. Bu amaçla sanatçının denemeleri, bazı hikâye ve köşe yazıları gibi farklı türlerdeki edebî metinleri mümkün olduğu nispette dikkate alınmış, yanı sıra yazarın şahsı ve yetiştiği çevrenin kültür zemini mümkün olduğunca göz önünde bulundurulmaya çalışılmıştır. Edebiyat hayatında yaklaşık olarak yarım asır boyunca edebî sahaya katkı sağlamaya çalışan Afet Ilgaz’ın romanlarındaki sosyal tenkit unsurlarının tespitine yönelik bu nâçizâne çalışmamız, yazarın edebiyat tarihindeki yerinin ve öneminin biraz daha da belirginleşmesine bir katkı yapabilirse kendimizi bahtiyar addedeceğiz.
Afet Ilgaz is one of the important women writers of the Republican period. The writer has the ability to fit novels, stories, essays children's books and translation genres from the date of his first work until her death, as well as having the knowledge of the background of current events as a columnist in newspapers. This study is divided into four main sections that aimed at identifying the elements of criticism in the novels of such a multifaceted author. The first part is an introduction to the author, while the other three chapters are devoted to identifying the elements of social criticism in his novels. The novels to be examined in each chapter are determined according to the characteristics of the author reflecting the phases of intellectual change he experienced by the author. These phases of change of ideas can be briefly described as socialist period, transition phase and Islamic period. When determining the elements of social criticism, it was not enough with novels to facilitate the determination of the reason why criticism was a highly subjective judgment and to free the judgments from the ground of hypothesis. In addition, the artist's essays, some stories and columns, such as different types of literary texts have been taken into consideration as much as possible in addition to the author's personality and the environment in which the environment is aimed to protect the impartiality of the judiciary. The importance of the author in the history of literature will become more evident with this study aimed at identifying the elements of social criticism in the novels of the writer who tring to contribute to the literary field for approximately half a century in the life of literature.
