In this study the relationship between the mood states of individuals engaged in fitness exercises and exercise addiction, data was collected through face-to-face interactions with participants, and voluntary participation was emphasized. A total of 424 individuals were reached, and 13 questionnaire forms with missing or erroneous data were excluded from the analysis. Thus, 411 questionnaire forms were considered for analysis. The data collection instruments used were the Brunel Mood Scale developed by Terry et al. and its Turkish adaptation by Çakıroğlu, as well as the Exercise Addiction Scale developed by Tekkurşun Demir, Hazar, and Cicioğlu. The analysis of the data was conducted using the SPSS 25.0 software package, with a confidence interval of 95%, based on the information obtained from the participants. Descriptive statistics and frequency distributions were calculated for participants' personal information. Outliers were examined in the dataset using Mahalanobis distance values, and 13 questionnaire forms with outlier values were excluded from the analysis. Since the significance level according to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was less than p<0.05, indicating that the data did not follow a normal distribution, it was decided to apply nonparametric tests for the analysis. The Mann Whitney U test was employed for binary variables, and the Kruskal Wallis H test was used for more than two variables. Additionally, the relationship between participants' mood states and exercise addiction was determined using Spearman correlation analysis. As a result of the research, a low-level significant positive relationship was observed between mood states and exercise addiction (p<0.01). Statistically significant differences were found in terms of exercise addiction concerning variables such as age, gender, marital status, education level, and weekly exercise frequency (p<0.05). Furthermore, statistically significant differences were detected in participants' mood states with respect to variables such as age, marital status, income level, weekly exercise frequency, occupation, and exercise history (p<0.05).
