Özet
Bu araştırma, otizmli bireylerin eğitiminde okul yöneticisi boyutunda bilişim teknolojilerinin kullanımının incelenmesi için planlanmıştır. Araştırma, 16.09.2013’de başlayıp 25.05.2014 tarihinde sonlanacak şekilde toplam sekiz aylık sürede uygulamalı olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada nicel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Betimleyici veya durum saptayıcı araştırma türüne aittir. Veri toplama aracı olarak, çoktan seçmeli ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan anket hazırlanmıştır. Bu anket, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı olan Edirne il merkezi ve ilçelerinde bulunan otizmli bireylerin eğitildiği kurumlarda ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde görevli müdür ve müdür yardımcılarına uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programı ile bilgisayara kayıt edilerek birleştirilmiş, yüzde ve frekans dağılımlarına bakılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma bilgisayar kullanma durum ve amaçları, internet kullanma durum ve amaçları, bilişim teknolojilerini otizm hakkında bilgilenme amaçlı kullanım durumları, bilişim teknolojilerinin takip durumları, kurumsal bilişim teknolojilerinin alt yapı olanakları ve bunlardan yararlanma gibi değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, katılımcıların 2’si (%16,7) orta, 9’u (%75) iyi, 1’i (%8,3) çok iyi bilgisayar kullanmakta; 9’u (%75) iyi, 3’ü (25) çok iyi internet kullanmaktadır. Katılımcıların tamamı otizmle ilgili konularda bilgi edinmek için internetten yararlanmakta ve 11’i (%91,7) güncel bilişim teknolojilerini takip etmektedirler. Katılımcıların kurumlarında otizmli bireylerin eğitimi için en çok masaüstü bilgisayar, laptop/netbook, internet, fotoğraf makinesi, eğitsel bilgisayar programları, tablet, x-box, projeksiyon ve akıllı telefon kullanılmaktadır.Katılımcılar; otizm eğitiminde teknoloji kullanımı ile ilgili yeterli yazılım ve donanımın olmamasından, Türkçe hazırlanmış programların azlığından, kurum bünyesinde otizmli çocukların az olduğundan, zaman yetersizliği ve çocukların psikoloji durumundan, mevcut programların özel eğitime uygun içerikte olmamasından dolayı kurumlarında otizmlilerin eğitiminde bilişim teknolojilerini kullanamadıklarını belirtmiştir.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of information technologies by school administrators in the education of individuals with autism. The study was conducted practically during eight months in total, beginning from September 16, 2013 until May 25, 2014. A quantitative method was used in this study. The study was a type of descriptive or case study. As a data-collection tool, a questionnaire consisting of multiple-choice and open-ended questions was developed. The questionnaire was applied to the principals and vice-principals serving in institutions where individuals with autism were educated and in rehabilitation centers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, located in central Edirne and in its counties. The data gathered were combined saving on a computer by SPSS program, and were evaluated considering the percentage and frequency distributions. The study investigated the variables such as the use of computers and the purposes for using them, the use of the Internet and the purposes for using it, the use of Information Technologies for acquiring information about autism, the state of keeping up with the Information Technologies, the infrastructure facilities of institutional Information Technologies, and making use of them. According to the findings, 2 participants (16.7%) had moderate, 9 (75%) had high, and 1 participant (8.3%) had very high levels of computer use; 9 participants (75%) had high, and 3 participants (25%) had very high levels of the Internet use. All of the participants were using the Internet for acquiring information about autism, and 11 of them (91.7%) were following the current Information Technologies. In the institutions of participants, desktop computers, laptops/netbooks, the Internet, cameras, educational computer programs, tablets, Xbox consoles, projectors, and smartphones were most frequently used for educational purposes of individuals with autism. The participants reported that they could not utilize the Information Technologies in institutions for the education of individuals with autism due to the fact that there were insufficient software and hardware in the education for autism, the programs established in Turkish were scarce, the number of children with autism in institutions was low, and the current programs did not have suitable content for special education, and also due to insufficient time and the psychological state of children.
