| dc.description.abstract | İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrası dönemde Türk siyasal yaşamında, 14 Mayıs 1950 seçimleri ile iktidara gelen Demokrat Parti, ?beyaz devrim? olarak nitelendirilecek bu durum sonrasında on yıl iktidarda kalmıştır. 1950-1954 döneminde, halkın gözündeki değerini arttıran DP, 1954 seçimlerinden yine başarı ile çıkmıştır. Fakat bu dönemde baskıcı olduğu için eleştirilmeye başlanan DP iktidarı, ekonomik olarak yaşanan olumsuzlukların da etkisiyle, 1957 seçimlerinden sonra 1954 seçimlerindeki etkisini kaybetmiş fakat seçimlerde uygulanan çoğunluk sisteminin etkisi ile bir kez daha tek başına iktidara gelebilmiştir. İktidarının son döneminde DP'ye karşı muhalefet artmış ve iktidar olmayan partiler aralarında Güç Birliği Cephesini kurmuşlardır. Bu cepheleşme, uygulanan ve iki partili bir sistem yaratan çoğunluk sistemi dolayısıyla Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclis'inde temsil hakkı bulamayan partileri destekçileri ile dönemin muhalefet partisi olan Cumhuriyet Halk Partisinin üyelerini etrafında toplamıştır. Buna karşılık, gücünü koruyabilmek ve etkinliğini arttırabilmek adına çoğunluğunu DP'lilerin oluşturduğu bir grup da Vatan Cephesi'ni oluşturmuşlardır. Ülke içinde yaşanan cepheleşmeler kısa sürede kargaşa ortamını tetiklemiş ve bölünmeyi körüklemiştir. İşte tam bu dönemde yaşanan bunalımlı günler, Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri'nin 27 Mayıs 1960'taki müdahalesine zemin hazırlamış ve ülkede çok partili siyasal yaşama ara verilmiştir. | en_US |
