Abstract
Eğitim ve öğretim, bir bütün halinde insanlığın varoluşundan beri yer, zaman ve mekân değiştirerek devam etmiştir. İlerleyen dönemlerde çağın gerekleri ve toplumun ihtiyaçlarıyla birlikte yeni yöntem ve metotlarla gelişimini sürdürmüştür. Osmanlı Devleti, Tanzimat’ın getirdiği yeni sisteme paralel olarak gelişen eğitimde yenilik faaliyetleri sonucu Osmanlı merkezinde ve eyaletlerinde birçok eğitim binası inşa ettirmiştir. Edirne, tarihsel süreç içerisinde sürekli iskân edilmiş bir şehirdir. Gerek Bizans gerekse Osmanlı idaresi altında da yoğun imar faaliyetlerinin gerçekleştiği bir şehir olmuştur. Özellikle Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’na başkentlik ettiği yıllarda oldukça fazla yapı çeşitliliğine sahip bir şehir haline gelmiştir. Osmanlı Devleti, Payitahtını Edirne’den İstanbul’a taşımasına rağmen, Edirne önemini korumaya devam eden bir şehir olmuştur. Tez kapsamında ele alınan Edirne'deki Geç Dönem Osmanlı Eğitim Yapıları da Osmanlı’nın son döneminin eğitim faaliyetlerindeki gelişimi ve bu amaçla inşa edilen yapıları içermektedir. Bu kapsamda daha önce bu yapıları tüm yönleri ile ele alan bir çalışma yapılmadığı için Edirne Merkez İlçesinde, başlangıçta okul olarak inşa edilmiş ilerleyen dönemlerde fonksiyonel değişikliklere uğramasına rağmen, günümüze ulaşan bu tarihi eğitim yapıları, harita üzerinden kent içindeki konumları belirlenerek, tarihçe, plan, cephe ve süsleme düzeni yönünden incelenmiştir.
Education and training has continuing since the existance of makind such as whole even changing time, place. Education and traning is progressing depend on age requirents and needs of society. Tanzimat period brought new education system, so loads of education buildings have been built in Edirne and the other state of Ottoman by Ottoman goverment. Edirne has always been atractive fort he set up new architecture everytime during the history, both in Byzantium and Ottoman periods. Edirne has been a city that has quite different structure buildings in especially when capital of Ottoman Empire. When Ottoman Empire's capital change from Edirne to Istanbul, Edirne still kept its reputation. Subject of this thesis is recent history of Ottoman education buildings that including progress of education and buildings' structure during last period of Ottoman. In this context, this subject has not been examind so far. Most of these historical schoals reaching today but their function have changed during history. Firstly were determind on the map and then was examined their histoy, techinal drawings, front an ornament.
