dc.description.abstractÂl-i Osman'ın küçük bir serhad beyliğinden bir imparatorluğa dönüştüğü aşamalarda uzun bir dönem merkezî bir konumda olan Edirne, farklı kültürlerin kesiştiği bir mekân olarak, Osmanlı mûsikîsinin tarihî yapılanması sürecinde de önemli bir şehir olmuştur. Şehrin Balkan fütûhâtına açılan bir kapı olması, askerî mûsikî açısından da Edirne'yi dikkat çekici kılmaktadır. "XIV. - XVI. Yüzyıllarda Edirne'de Mûsikî" başlığını taşıyan çalışmanın, özellikle Edirne üzerine odaklanmış olması, neredeyse bütünüyle İstanbul merkezli olarak inşâ edilmiş Osmanlı mûsikî literatürüne alternatif bir perspektif ve katkı olması bağlamında bir tercihtir. Üç bölümden oluşan bu çalışmanın her bir bölümü Edirne ve mûsikî ilişkisinin farklı bir yönüne dikkat çekmek üzere düzenlenmiştir. Tez bağlamında, coğrafî ve siyasî özellikleri ile bir pâyitaht, kültürlerin ve inançların bir araya geldiği sosyal, dinî ve kültürel bir mekân ve nihâyet bir askerî merkez olarak, Edirne şehrinin kurum ve kişileriyle 14.-16. yy.'da Osmanlı mûsikîsi içindeki konumunun araştırılması amaçlanmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractEdirne which had a central position for a long time during the stages when the Ottoman Empire state was transformed from a small border principality into an empire, has become an important city in the historical structuring of Ottoman music as a place where different cultures intersect converged. The city was also remarkable in terms of military music, as it was a key to the starting point of the Balkan conquests. The fact that the study titled "Music in Edirne the 14th - 16th Centuries" focuses specifically on Edirne is a choice in the context of being an alternative perspective and contribution to the Ottoman musical literature, which was almost entirely based in Istanbul. Each part of this study, which consists of three parts, is designed to draw attention to a different aspect of the relationship between Edirne and music. The main purpose of this thesis is showing the major role the city of Edirne and its institutions and musicians of the city of Edirne played there between 14th and 16th centuries, as a capital with its geographical and political characteristics, as a social and religous cultural place where cultures and beliefs come together, and as a military center.en_US
