Abstract
Bu çalışmada özel gereksinimli çocukların duyusal özelliklerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Kesitsel tarama modelinde yapılan çalışma ayrıca, metodolojik tasarım türünde desenlenmiştir. Tekirdağ, Edirne ve Kırklareli illerindeki 3-14 yaş 11 ay arası özel gereksinimli çocuk (zihinsel yetersizlik, DEHB, dil ve konuşma bozukluğu, ortopedik yetersizlik, OSB, özel öğrenme güçlüğü, Serabral Palsi, işitme yetersizliği, duygusal davranışsal bozukluğu olan) oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada Genel Bilgi Formu ve Kısa Duyu Profil-2 / KDP-2 ölçeği (Short Sensory Profile-2/ SSP-2) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın birinci aşamasında 2014 yılında Winnie Dunn tarafından geliştirilen Kısa Duyu Profil-2 / KDP-2 ölçeğinin (Short Sensory Profile-2/ SSP-2) geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılmıştır. 889 çocuğun (547 tipik gelişim gösteren, 342 özel gereksinimli) ailelerine ölçek formları uygulanmış ve Kısa Duyu Profil-2 ölçeğinin duyusal özellikleri değerlendirmede uygun olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın ikinci aşaması ise, 422 özel gereksinimli çocuğun ailelerininin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada genel olarak, özel gereksinimli çocukların duyusal özellikleri yaş, cinsiyet, engel türü, zihinsel engel düzeyi ve OSB'den etkilenme düzeyi değişkenlerine göre değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Toplanan veriler istatistik paket programla analiz edilmiştir.
The main purpose of this study was to examine the sensory characteristics of children with special needs. The study, which was carried out according to the cross-sectional survey model, was formed according to the methodological design. The study group included of children with special needs (mental disability, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, language and speech disorder, orthopedic disability, autism spectrum disorder, specific learning difficulties, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment and, with emotional and behavioral disorders) aged 3 years to 4 years 11 months in Tekirdağ, Edirne and Kırklareli provinces. General Information Form and Short Sensory Profile-2/ SSP-2 were used as data collection tools. In the first stage, the validity and reliability study of the Short Sensory Profile-2/SSP-2 scale, developed by Winnie Dunn in 2014, was conducted. The scales were administered to parents of 889 children (547 with typical development, 342 with special needs). Accordingly, it was determined that the Short Sense Profile-2 scale was suitable for the evaluation of sensory characteristics. The second stage was carried out with the families of 422 children with special needs. At this stage, the sensory characteristics of children with special needs were evaluated according to the variables of age, gender, type of disability, level of mental disability and level of being affected by ASD. Accordingly, it was concluded that the sensory characteristics of children with special needs did not differ according to age, type of disability and level of mental disability (p< 0.05). There was no significant difference in the seeking sub-dimension of the sensory and behavioral dimension according to the gender variable (p< 0.05). In addition, it was determined that there was no difference according to the variable of the level of being affected by ASD (p>0.05).
