Özet
ÖZET Türkiye'nin Avrupa Gümrük Birliği' ne üyeliği çok acele alınmış bir karar sonucu gerçekleşmiştir. Bu karar, niteliği itibari ile siyasidir. Ekonomik ve ticari tedbirlerin alınmadan gerçekleştiği üyelik, bu alanda faaliyette bulunan firmaları derinden etkileyecektir. Özellikle rekabet avantajı durum değerlendirmesinin yapılmadan alındığı bu karar, rekabete dayalı uluslararası pazarlarda bir çok firmamızın ve sektörümüzün zarar görmesine neden olacaktır. İhracata dönük sanayileşme stratejisini benimsemesi gereken Türkiye ekonomisinin, başta devletin yapması gereken altyapı, destek ve teşvikleri ile birlikte, rekabet unsurunu göz önüne alarak kalite odaklı üretimi gerçekleştirmesi gerekmektedir. Aksi takdirde özellikle Avrupa pazarı gibi nitelikli bir pazarda rekabet edilmesi oldukça zor görülmektedir.
SUMMARY Turkey's membership to European Custom Union was somehow an urgent decision. This agreement in terms of its contex is politic. Without reaching certain standarts in economics and trade. The firms operating in the area of custom union will be deeply affected. Particularly by not taking competitive advantage accounts into consideration,custom union decission will cause many problems for the firms, which are operating in international market. This thesis argues that since Turkey has chosen the strategy of Export-base economic development model, she has to consantrate on compotition and quality base production with the help of state, particularly supporting insfractive services. 98
