Özet
Toplumsal hayatı ve yaşama biçimimizi belirlediği bilinen kültürel öğeler, günümüzde hızlı bir değişim sürecine girmiştir. Görsel kültürün yeni yüzyılda bireylerin kültürel ve toplumsal gelişiminin merkezinde bulunduğu görülmektedir. Görsel kültür aracılığıyla bireyler üzerinde bir kültür biçimi oluşturulmaktadır. Oluşturulan bu yeni kültürde temel görmeye, gösterilenlere, görünenlere dayanmaktadır. Türk kültürünün zengin mirası içerisinde yer alan motif ve desenler ve bu motiflerin içerdiği simgesel anlamlar, kültürel çeşitliliğimizin bir bölümüdür. Türk kültüründe ve sosyal hayatında önemli bir sembol olan bitkiler, hayvanlar, geometrik şekiller kullanıldıkları eserlerde gerçek anlamları yanında soyut anlamlara da bürünmüş bir değerdir. Zaman içerisinde toplumların ve bireylerin kültür, duygu, düşünce ve ifadelerini yansıtan Türk motifleri de, günümüzde görsel kültür endüstrisinin bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasında, kültürel analiz için, geleneksel ürünlerde kullanılan motifler, ortaya çıkışı ve sembolik anlamları araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ile Türk kültüründe yaygın olarak kullanılan motifler belirlenmiş, bu geleneksel motiflerin Edirne ilinde bulunan seçilmiş tarihi yapı, müze ve diğer eserlerde kullanımı ve anlamları araştırılmıştır. Seçilen ürünlerdeki motiflerin halk dili, aynı motiflerin farklı bölgelerdeki kültürel anlamları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu sayede bireylerin kültürel ve toplumsal yapılanmasında motiflerin etkileri ortaya konmuştur. İncelenen süsleme ve motiflerin, kullanım şekillerini ve sembolik anlamlarını toplumsal kültürden aldıkları ve bu kültürün bir parçası oldukları, bu nedenle de bireylerin gelişimlerinde kültürel ve toplumsal yapılanmasında önemli etkilerinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
The cultural elements that are known to determine the social life and our way of life have entered a period of rapid change today. It is seen that visual culture is at the center of the cultural and social development of individuals in the new century. A culture style is formed on individuals through visual culture. In this new culture, it is based on seeing, what is shown and what is seen. The motifs and patterns in the rich heritage of Turkish culture and the symbolic meanings these motifs contain are a part of our cultural diversity. Plants, animals, geometric shapes, which are an important symbol in Turkish culture and social life, are a value that has been put into abstract meanings as well as their real meanings in the works they are used. Over time, Turkish motifs that reflect the culture, feelings, thoughts and expressions of societies and individuals have become a part of the visual culture industry today. In this thesis, the motifs used in traditional products, their emergence and symbolic meanings were investigated for cultural analysis. With the data obtained, motifs widely used in Turkish culture were determined, and the use and meanings of these traditional motifs in selected historical buildings, museums and other works in Edirne were investigated. The folk language of the motifs in the selected products were compared with the cultural meanings of the same motifs in different regions. In this way, the effects of motifs on the cultural and social structuring of individuals have been revealed. It has been determined that the ornaments and motifs examined have taken their usage and symbolic meanings from the social culture and they are a part of this culture and therefore have an important effect on the development of individuals and their cultural and social structuring.
