Özet
Bu tez çalışmasında ABD sanatının tarihsel süreç içerisinde sanatı ve günümüz sanatını nasıl etkilediği, rengi yüzey üzerinde nasıl kullandığı, formun önemini ve endüstrinin gelişmesiyle birlikte endüstriyel malzemenin sağladığı yeni ve zengin anlatım olanaklarıyla incelenmiştir. Renk, yüzey ve form, sanatın tüm süreçlerinde en temel yön olmuştur. I. Bölümde ilk olarak söz konusu kavramlar anlatılmıştır. II. Dünya Savaşı sonrası süreçte Amerikan sanatı gelişen olayların neticesinde büyük ve etkili bir dönüşüm yaşamış ve dünyadaki değişimlere uyum sağlamıştır. II. Bölümde savaşın etkilerini eserlerinde rengin yüzey üzerindeki etkileri ile anlatan Soyut Dışavurumculuk akımının başlıca sanatçılarına değinilmiştir. Çalışmanın III. Bölümünde ise 1960 sonrası sanatsal bir hareket olan Minimalizm akımı ve içinde yer alan Sert Kenar Resmi ressamlarının mekânsal boyutta renk ile iki boyutlu formun sınırlarını nasıl aştığı incelenmiştir. 1970 ve 1980’lerde endüstrinin gelişmesiyle birlikte eserlerdeki malzeme kullanımında bir dönüşüm yaşanmıştır. Amerikan sanatı Minimalizm ile çelişmiş ve bu durum form ve yüzey özgürlüğüne sahip bağımsız sanat anlayışları oluşturmuştur. IV. Bölümde bu etkide kalan sanatçılara değinilmiştir. Yeni olanakların ortaya çıkmasıyla modern sanat post moderne evrilmiştir. Son olarak, Amerika sanatından etkilenen günümüz sanatçılarının renk, yüzey ve formun sınırlarını nasıl keşfettiğine de değinilmiştir.
In this thesis study, how American art influenced art and contemporary art in the historical process, how it used color on the surface, the importance of form and the new and rich expression possibilities provided by the industrial material with the development of the industry were examined. Color, surface and form have been the most basic aspects in all processes of art. In the first chapter, these concepts are explained first. In the post-World War II period, American art underwent a great and influential transformation as a result of the developing events and adapted to the changes in the world. In the second chapter, the main artists of the Abstract Expressionism movement, which expressed the effects of war in their works with the effects of color on the surface, are mentioned. In the third chapter of the study, Minimalism movement, which is an artistic movement after 1960, and Hard Edge Painting painters who transcended the boundaries of color and two-dimensional form in spatial dimension are examined. With the development of industry in 1970s and 1980s, a transformation occurred in material use in works. American art contradicted Minimalism and this situation created independent art understandings that have freedom of form and surface. In the fourth chapter, artists who were influenced by this effect are mentioned. With the emergence of new opportunities, modern art has evolved into postmodern. Finally, contemporary American artists who explore the boundaries of color, surface and form are also mentioned.
