Özet

Education is extremely important in the individual development of children. Children spend most of their time in educational institutions during the day. Considering that this environment greatly affects the learning performance of the individual, it is clear that the spaces should be arranged according to ergonomic conditions. Ergonomics is a discipline that provides optimum design for the performance of individuals within the framework of the mutual interaction of the individual, equipment and spatial solution. From this point of view, it is aimed to investigate to what extent the arrangement of classrooms in primary schools according to ergonomic design principles affects student productivity. In the methodology of the study, first of all, a literature review was made. In order to evaluate the intended spatial organization and comfort conditions, two surveys were conducted with equal numbers of students from different classes and genders in the classrooms of Edirne Babademirtas District Gazi Primary School. The first is intended to measure the ergonomic design principles (EDP) in classrooms, and the second is to measure the effect of these principles on increasing students’ productivity and psychological comfort (ISPPC). In this context, three basic assumptions have been made. In order to evaluate these assumptions numerically, four representation assumptions were created. The obtained data were evaluated using descriptive statistical methods (T- Test, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, Pearson Correlation Coefficient) in SPSS. The results are based on representation assumptions. It has been determined that the productivity of the students is also positively affected if the appropriate educational environment is provided in the classrooms. © 2023 Peter Lang GmbH, Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften.
