Herbal treatments, dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, and probiotics, which fall under the term "natural products, " are used quite frequently in complementary therapies because they are quickly and easily accessible products. Because they are labelled "natural, " they are generally considered beneficial and harmless. However, there is a lack of meaningful and sufficient evidence on the therapeutic effects, mechanisms, and safety of using herbs and other natural products. It should be remembered that they can interfere with the effectiveness of standard therapies, interact with medications and cause the development of serious problems. © 2023 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
