| dc.description.abstract | Genetik, ırk, cinsiyet ve çevresel faktörler gibi birçok etken büyüme ve gelişme üzerinde etkilidir. Sporun sağlık, fiziksel uygunluk, sosyalleşme ve özgüven gelişimi üzerinde etkin faktörlerden biri olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu çalışma, antropometrik ölçümler kullanılarak Özel Olimpiyatlara katılan zihinsel engelli bireylerin fiziksel gelişimi üzerine sporun etkisini araştırmak için planlanmıştır. Çalışmaya 11, 18 yaşlar arasında 279 erkek denek katılmıştır. Denekler 3 grup altında incelenmiştir: Normal gelişim gösteren 100 birey, Özel Olimpiyatlara katılmayan 88 zihinsel engelli birey ve Özel Olimpiyatlar programı kapsamında spor eğitimi ve yarışma programına katılan 91 zihinsel engelli birey çalışmaya alınmıştır. Çalışmada 19 antropometrik noktadan elde edilen 29 ölçüm (9 uzunluk, 9 çevre, 8 genişlik ve 3 demografik) kullanılmıştır. Özel Olimpiyatlara katılan ve katılmayan zihinsel engelli bireylerin antropometrik ölçümleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Özel Olimpiyatlar sporcusu olan ve olmayan zihinsel engelli bireyler ile normal gelişim gösteren bireyler arasında uyluk uzunluğu, kalça genişliği ölçümleri ve VKİ bakımından anlamlı farklılık belirlendi (p<0,05). Baş çevresi, yüz uzunluğu ve kalça çevresi ölçümleri bakımından farklılık bulunmadı (p>0,05). Çalışmamızda tespit etiğimiz bu farklılıklar, egzersiz ve sporun insan vücudu üzerindeki olumlu etkilerinden kaynaklanacağı gibi, engelli bireylerin bireysel özellikleri doğrultusunda hazırlanan Özel Olimpiyatlar spor eğitimi ve yarışma programının bir sonucu da olabilir. | en_US |

| dc.description.abstract | Many factors such as race, gander, genetic and enviromental factors have effects on growth and development. It is stated that sport is one of the factors which has positive effects on health, physical development, sociallization and development of self-esteem. In this study, it was aimed to investigate sport's effect on physical development of subjects with mental handicap attending special olympics, using anthropometric measurements. 279 subjects of a single sex (male) between 11-18 ages participated the study. Subjects divided info three groups persons: non disabled group, subjects with mental retardation but not attending special olympics and subjects taking part in exercise program and games within the scape of special olympics. In the study 29 measurements (9 length, 9 circumference, 8 width - 3 demographic) obtained from 19 anthropometric points were used: Between anthropometric measurement results of subjects participating and non participating special olympics have significant difference. Among measurements of thigh length, hip width and body mass index obtained from three groups were statistically significant difference (p<0,05). Any difference was not found in measurements of head circumference, face length and hip circumference of athletes in three groups (p>0,05). This difference could be a natural result of sport and exercise or could be due to special training and competition program in special olympics prepared specially for handicapped. | en_US |
