Aim: In this study, it was aimed to determine sexual attitudes and related factors of summer school students of nursing department. Methods: In a cross-sectional and descriptive design, the study was conducted on 89 nursing summer school students of a university between June and August 2014. Data were collected by an survey form containing socio-demographic characteristics that was constructed by the researchers and Hendrick Sexual Attitude Scale. Results: The mean age of students was 22.2±1.6, and 52.8 of them was female, mean subscale scores of the scale were 3.8±0.9 for permissiveness, 3.9±1.0 for birth control, 3.0±1.0 for communion, and 3.1±1.0 for instrumentality. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of subscales was found between 0.86 and 0.92. Permissiveness and instrumentality subscale scores of male students were significantly lower than female students (p<0.001), while communion subscale score of male students was significantly higher (p=0.001). Permissiveness subscale scores of smokers and alcohol user were significantly lower (p<0.001 and p=0.005, respectively). According to the stepwise multiple linear regression analysis it was found that gender and alcohol use effected permissiveness subscale, perspectives of sexual intercourse as normal effected birth control subscale, age, gender, and perspectives of sexual intercourse as normal effected communion subscale, and gender effected instrumentality subscale (p<0.05). Conclusion: The age, gender, smoking, alcohol, sexual education status, presence of sexual partner, and perspectives of sexual intercourse as normal effect to the sexual attitudes of summer school students of nursing department. © GATA.en_US
