Abstract
ÖZET Bu çalışma, 1685 – 1750 yılları arasında yaşamış olan Alman besteci Johann Sebastian Bach’ın klavsen için yazdığı, günümüz piyano repertuarında oldukça önemli bir yeri olan altı İngiliz Süitin tarihinin ve müzikal özelliklerinin incelenmesinden oluşmuştur. Bir besteci olarak Bach’ın yaşam öyküsü, Barok dönemin klasik batı müziği üzerindeki etkileri ve Barok Dönem Süit formuyla ilgili bilgiler de ayrıca verilmiştir. Türkçe ve yabancı kaynaklardan yararlanılarak hazırlanan bu çalışma, günümüz icracılarına katkı sağlamaya yönelik yapılmış olup, bu süitleri yorumlarken faydalanabilecekleri bir kaynak olması amaçlanmıştır.
This study includes the history and the musical features of the six English Suites that have a significant importance in piano repertory today, which were composed for harpsichord by the German composer who lived between the years 1686 and 1750. Bach’s life story as a composeri the effects of The Baroque Period on classical music and information regarding the suite form in The Baroque Period are also included. This study which had the backing of both Turkish and foreign resources aims to help performers of today to benefit form this study while playing these suites.
