Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, İlköğretim 2. Kademe Fen ve Teknoloji derslerinde ProjeTabanlı Öğretim yönteminin uygulanma sürecini öğretmen, öğrenci ve veli bakımından incelemektir. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum (vaka) çalışması ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri İstanbul'da bulunan beş devlet okulundaki 11 Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmeni, 23 veli ve 38 öğrenciyle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılarak elde edilmiştir. Veriler betimsel analize tabi tutularak bulgu ve sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğretmen, öğrenci ve velilerin ortak kanısının; projenin yeni bir ürün tasarlamak veya üretmek olduğu şeklinde tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma grubundaki öğretmenlerin PTÖ yöntemini okullarda uygulanması gereken bir yöntem olarak görmelerine rağmen bu yöntemi uygulayamadıkları saptanmıştır. Okulda proje konusunun seçimiyle başlayan proje süreçlerin diğer aşamalarının öğrencilerin evinde ailelerinin yardımıyla gerçekleştirildiği anlaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin projeleri sadece değerlendirme aracı olarak gördükleri bulunmuştur. Ayrıca MEB' in yayınladığı takip formlarını da kullanışsız buldukları ve bu nedenle yapılan projeleri değerlendirirken öğrencilerin göstermiş oldukları çabaları baz aldıkları tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada velilerin proje çalışmalarının öğrenciler için faydalı olduğunu düşündüğü, çocuklarını desteklediği görülürken bazı velilerin yüksek not kaygısı nedeniyle çocuklarının projelerini yaptıkları ifade etmişlerdir. Öğrencilerin; proje yaparken araştırmalarını daha çok interneti kullanarak yaptıkları, en çok proje yapmak istedikleri dersin Fen ve Teknoloji olduğu, yapılan projeleri sergilemekte de istekli oldukları tespit edilmiştir.
Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze the application process of Project-based teaching method in Primary School Second Grade Science and Technology lesson in terms of student, teacher and parent. The study has been carried out through case study being one of the qualitative research methods. The data has been gathered from twith semi-structured interview forms carried out with 11 Science and Technology teachers of five state schools, 23 parents and 38 students in Ataşehir, İstanbul in 2010-2011 academic year. The data gathered from this study has analyzed with descriptive analysis method. The findings gathered have been edited and interpreted in order to give meaning to data, to explain the relationship between the findings and to draw conclusion. Even though the teachers in the study group see the PBT method as a need to be applied in the classes, it has been found out that they are unable to apply this method because of crowded classes and intensive curriculum. Also, the study revealed out that the latter processes of the Project starting with identifying Project topic have been dealed with the help of their families and the teachers have seen the projects during the evaluation phase and they scored the projects mostly for the performances of the students and how useful these projects as they found the follow-up forms of Ministry of Education. It has been revealed out from the study that the parents find Project studies useful for students and they support their children, however some parents have been found out to do the projects of their children with the concern of high score. In addition, the students have been found out to use mostly internet while doing their projects, they love and pay great attention to Science and Technology lesson in which the students would very much like to do projects.
