Özet
Developing formal and informal processes, which have an important place in the holistic structure of architectural education, within the scope of “sustainable architecture and ecological design” principles and strategies are necessary for the organization of habitable environments. The main purpose of this study is to question the level of application of the theoretical knowledge acquired by architects within the scope of ecological energy-efficient design, climate-compatible architecture, solar architecture or environmental protection approaches in their formal education processes and the reasons for not being able to apply them. Supporting the professional development of the architect in the work (lifelong learning) informal processes and their contribution to professional development towards ecological building design are also discussed. The study questionnaires were applied to 165 of 184 architects registered to TMMOB Chamber of Architects Edirne and Keşan Representatives (2017 year data). Survey questions; In addition to determining the theoretical knowledge acquired by architects in their formal and informal processes, it was created within the scope of environmentally friendly energyefficient building designs of ecological architecture. The questionnaires were processed using the SPSS program and the data were visualized with graphic explanations. In addition to the general views of the architects on ecological building design and application practices, beside this the problems they encounter were also determined. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2021 All rights reserved.
