Edirne merkezinde lise öğrencilerinde siber zorbalık ve ilgili faktörlerin değerlendirilmesi

Özet
Çalışmamızda Edirne il merkezindeki 26 ortaöğretim kurumunda eğitim alan öğrenciler tabakalandırma yöntemiyle seçilmiştir. Öğrencilerin siber zorbalık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve sosyodemografik faktörler, anne/baba eğitim durumu, bilgisayar/tablet/cep telefonuna sahip olma durumu, günlük internette geçirilen süre, ailenin tutumu, internet kullanımının ebeveyn tarafından denetlenmesi, sosyal medya kullanım sıklığı ile siber zorbalık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkili faktörlerin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Edirne il merkezindeki 26 ortaöğretim kurumundan herhangi birinde eğitim gören 2003 lise öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veriler 68 sorudan oluşan anket yardımıyla toplanmıştır. Katılımcıların sosyodemografik faktörlerini sorgulayan 44 soru bulunmaktadır. Ek olarak her katılımcıya 24 soru içeren Siber Zorbalık Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Katılımcılar 1038 kız (%51,8) ve 965 erkekten (%48,2) oluşmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 16±1,22 olarak bulunmuştur. Katılımcıların Siber Zorbalık Ölçeği puan ortalaması 28,54±8,421 olarak hesaplanmıştır. 506 kişinin (%25,2) ölçek puanı 29,5 ve üzerindedir; bu kişilerin siber zorbalık düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Lise öğrencilerinde siber zorbalık düzeyini etkileyen faktörlerin değerlendirildiği çalışmamızda yaş, cinsiyet, sınıf, okul türü, sigara/alkol/madde kullanımı, ailede alınan kararlara dahil olma durumu, algılanan okul başarısı, arkadaş ilişkileri, günlük internet kullanım süresi, haksızlığa karşı verilen tepki, intikam alma isteği, tanımadığı kişilerden gelen arkadaşlık isteklerinin kabulü, ailenin tutumu, sosyal medya kullanım sıklığı, sosyal medyada kullanılan üyelik adı, internet kullanımının ebeveyn tarafından denetlenmesi ile siber zorbalık arasında anlamlı ilişki saptanmıştır. Hanenin aylık geliri, anne ve babanın birlikte yaşaması, anne/babanın eğitim durumu, bilgisayar/tablet/cep telefonuna sahip olma, aile koruma şifresi 67 varlığı, internet kullanımının okul personeli tarafından denetlenmesi, bilgisayarlarda bulunan filtre programları ile siber zorbalık arasında ilişki saptanmamıştır. Bu çalışmanın, çoğunlukla lise öğrencilerinde görülen siber zorbalık olaylarını etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi ve sadece adölesanlara değil ebeveynlere, okul yöneticilerine, öğretmenlere yönelik de uygulamaların önemini vurgulaması, birinci basamakta siber zorbalık yapan ya da mağduru olanlara yönelik yaklaşımlarda yol gösterici olması beklenmektedir.
In our study, students from 26 high schools in Edirne city center were chosen with stratified sampling method. It is aimed to determine the level of cyberbullying they go through and assess the relationship between cyberbullying and sociodemographic variables, education level of their parents, their smartphone/tablet/computer possession, the amount of time they spend online a day, the behavior of their family, control of parents on their internet consumption and social media usage. The sample of our study consists of 2003 high school students going to any of 26 high schools in Edirne center. Data were gathered via a questionnaire made up of 68 questions. Forty-four of these questions obtain information about sociodemographic factors. Additionally, the Cyberbullying Scale made up of 24 questions was applied to every participant. Among them 1038 (51.8%) are female, whereas 965 (48.2%) are male. The mean age is 16± 1,22. The mean score of the students on the Cyberbullying Scale is 28,54± 8,421. In the sample group, 506 (25.2%) scored 29,5 and higher; indicating a high level of cyber bullying. In our study, we have assessed factors affecting the cyberbullying level of highschoolers, and a statistically significant relation between cyber bullying and age, gender, class, type of high school, smoking, consumption of alcohol and drugs, their involvement in the decision-making process in the family, school success, relationship with friends, daily internet consumption, their reaction to injustice, desire to get revenge, their response to friend requests 69 from people they don't know, behavior of their family, social media consumption, their nicknames in social media and control of parents on their internet consumption was found. However, there was no statistically significant relation between cyberbullying and monthly income, marital status of parents, education level of parents, smartphone/tablet/computer possession, family protection password, control of internet consumption by school personnel and filtering programs on computer. This study is aimed to designate the factors affecting of cyber bullying, which mostly occurs among high school students. The study is also expected to stress the importance of practices not only towards adolescents but also towards parents, teachers and school administration, while at the same time it is expected to be a guide in the primary care on how to approach cyberbullying victims and perpetrators.
