Bulgaria is a state that has been under the rule of the Ottoman Empire for centuries. The Ottomans had Turks settled in this region for the Turkification of the region and to increase their loyalty. As a result of these settlements, Islam became widespread in Bulgaria and a cultural fusion was experienced. The Turks, who started to live in the region, brought their own traditions and lifestyles here, and the people of the region began to mingle with the Turks and Islam. As a result of these convergences, in the course of time, Turks from the region began to buy lands, establish foundations and build places of worship. In this sense, people who started to lead a good and peaceful life lived in this way for many years. After a while, Bulgaria, which declared its independence from the Ottoman Empire, emerged as a Principality, then a Kingdom and finally the Republic of Bulgaria. During these transition periods, Muslims living in the country were affected by the changes in government and the new situations that the country entered, and they were mostly damaged. Especially during the communist government, as a result of the pressure and violence policies against Muslims and Turks, people were forced to change their names and came to a situation where they could not freely wear their traditional clothes. In this sense, Turkish and Muslim places and foundations in the country suffered the same amount of damage. Many foundations have been confiscated by the state, sold or given the management of people close to the government. Within the Bulgarian state, this foundation problem could not be solved for many years, and Muslim foundations were damaged and destroyed mostly due to government-related reasons.
