One of the most important side effects of globalization is that it has significantly increased human mobility along with the mobility of goods. International student mobility is just one of these side effects. Increasing student mobility due to higher education is especially noteworthy. On the other hand, global economies caused the national borders to lose importance, and this situation has popularised cross-border education. In this regard, global economies have increased the importance of universities in educating people who can think globally. This situation revealed the need for educational institutions to cooperate and develop strategies. In this respect, economic crises, global environmental problems and research on a sustainable future have made it necessary to share information and make use of technology commonly. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.en_US
